Known specifications include a 5.5-inch LCD panel, and it is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon processor. The control scheme features 3D Hall Effect thumbsticks with RGB ring lights and Hall Effect triggers, aimed at improving durability and operability. It is also equipped with a cooling fan, dual front-facing speakers, a USB Type-C port, a microSD card slot, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Color variations will include Indigo, Retro Gray, and Black. While pricing and release dates are currently undecided, the device is attracting community attention as a potential new flagship model for the company featuring a Snapdragon chipset.
AYANEO 'Pocket Micro 2' specifications partially revealed, adding video output and headphone jack
AYANEO is preparing for the official announcement of the "Pocket Micro 2," the successor to its compact Android gaming handheld, the "Pocket Micro," and has been gradually revealing specifications via its official X account and other channels.
A major change from the previous model is the addition of a 3.5mm headphone jack and a microphone on the bottom of the unit. This allows for the use of wired earphones, which is beneficial for action and rhythm games where audio latency is a critical factor. It has also been revealed that the USB Type-C port will support full functionality, including video output to external displays.
Basic specs have also been upgraded; the SoC has been refreshed from the previous model's MediaTek Helio G99 to a Snapdragon processor, and the battery capacity has been increased to 3,950mAh. As a model that combines higher processing performance and expandability while maintaining portability, it appears to be a practical choice for portable gamers.
Retroid Pocket 6 price adjusted; 12GB model orders suspended due to memory supply shortages
While new device announcements continue, existing models are being affected by component supply challenges. Retroid has implemented a price adjustment for its Android gaming handheld, the "Retroid Pocket 6."
The price of the base model with 8GB RAM/128GB storage on the official store has been increased by $15, from $229 at launch to $244. Furthermore, orders for the high-end 12GB RAM/256GB storage model ($279) have been temporarily suspended due to industry-wide memory supply shortages, which make reliable shipping difficult.
The Retroid Pocket 6 is a high-value device featuring a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, a 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED display, and a 6000mAh battery. This price adjustment and the suspension of orders for the high-end model are clear indicators of the rising component procurement costs currently facing the entire portable gaming market.
